I’ve lived in Waco for a little over four years now but I’ve never truly explored it.

I had the pleasure of working with @wacotxhot to host a mom trip where we did some of just that. Walking the ever expanding Magnolia Silos, I swear it gets bigger and bigger, checking out spice village, they have all the things, lunch at Milo’s and a bit more!

If you haven’t been to Waco yet I highly suggest you do. It’s small, quaint, homely, and such a good time!

Validation Seeking continued..

The Reel I posted yesterday talked about validation seeking.

I wanted to dive into this a bit.

During the healing journey sis there are often times that you realize your way of life was most often a response to trauma and your survival instincts kicking in. Which in turn this is something you’ve assumed as identity traits.

Now while I’m no therapist and I truly do not know a lot, I do have life experiences that has set me up to be able to share my journey so that in this world we all feel less alone.

The interpretation received about seeking validation from others, for me, stems from not getting it growing up and when I did it was after pushing so hard to show I’ve earned it. This then has turned into me being the loudest in the world so someone notices me.

Now we all know I love to hype y’all up. That will never change but after this was revealed I couldn’t help but wonder why I do it. Not only was it because I love to hype y’all up but I did it becasue I knew what it felt like to have no one do it to me and when I am doing great things I often look around me waiting for the confetti, marching band, and the cheer squad to hype me up too.

That validation seeking while isn’t a good thing makes me want to give that validation to someone else in hopes it rubs off on me.

Full transparency: it’s an empty feeling honestly. Not hyping y’all but the hoping it rubs off on me like some sort of magical dust.

I say all this to say me seeking validation from others was deep and once o figured my why out I’ve been able to use the steps I posted in my last Reel to help me look for in within myself. It’s not easy I work at it everyday. I still love the hype y’all give me but that feeling when it comes from me to me is a feeling out of this world 💫

What a ride this year has been ! We didn’t really have any plans today since dad had to work. However if you caught my stories yesterday you know that he tested positive for Covid and I am sure we all have it.
